The Williamson County Anti-Drug Coalition's (WCADC) 1st Town Hall Meeting titled: The Cost of Underage Binge Drinking in Our Back Yard was held on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 6 PM, at Thompson Station Church Student Center. We had a great turn out for the event and received praises for the presentation that was given by WCADC and keynote speaker Derrick Smith. One of the teenagers in the audience won the grand prize Android Tablet donated by Thompson Station Church.

WCADC’s Coalition Coordinator Eric Fletcher stated, “I would like to take the time out to thank everyone that participated in our 1st Williamson County Anti-Drug Coalition (WCADC) Town Hall Meeting. We had a lot of members behind the scenes, volunteers, and those that were in the spotlight helped to make this event a success, so thank you for volunteering your time.”
The town hall meeting provided exposure to the issue of underage binge drinking in Williamson County. Media coverage was provided by United Way of Williamson County, News Channel 2, News Channel 5, HobNob Franklin and the Tennessean-Williamson AM to highlight WCADC's fight to save kids from substance abuse in our county.
Special Thanks to Keynote Speaker and the Q & A Panel: Derrick Smith, Brentwood Officer Mark Wood, Dr. Parnell Donahue, Lyndee Rainey of Bradford Health Services, Maggie Harris of Volunteer Behavioral Health, and District Attorney Kim Helper for answering questions and providing their expertise to the event. Thanks to Williamson County Sheriff Dusty Rhodes for providing patrol for the event as well.
We would also like to thank our door prize donors: STARS, Bradford Health Services, Cumberland Heights, Volunteer Behavioral Health (The Guidance Center of Franklin), Thompson Station Church, and Chick-fil-a with making the event even better.

WCADC looks forward to another Town Hall Meeting in September in Williamson County with another great presentation and even bigger turn out by the community. For more information about the next town hall meeting location and other updates go to www.MyWCADCtn.org
